Nevertheless, we go ahead and started playing ice-breaking games as usual. The best part is, there's only 13 participants and all of them know each other. Lol. That's where the fun begins, playing games, losers paste scotch tape over face! Lol

Before we start off our Survival Camp, we're kind enough to let them eat a nice lunch~. Changi Nasi Lemak!! But they have no idea what they are about to go thru for the next 3 days.... =)

We trekked all the way to our campsite & conducted briefing.. Rules & expectations were told, & it's starting to get to them that this might not be the usual fun & exciting camp by Mumbo~.

End Result~
Photobucket

To eat, they'll have to find food (which we planted in food field), collect firewoord/branches and start fire with matchsticks. Sweet potato, corn and bananas.. that's all for 3 days...this is to simulate the situation where u have to search for ur own food in deserted island~

Surprising, we managed to find ALOT of durians in ubin! It's the durian season! Plenty of durians dropped on the ground. Sean was so excited until he forgot he's in a camp now!

Prying open the durians~
Photobucket

Too bad, the durians were no ripe even though they fell from trees.

Opppsss, caught in the act. =)

Photobucket

The Most Mosquito Bites Award!! 239 bites on the arms & legs!! Faint!
Photobucket

This is only a portion...See to believe it....
Photobucket

Glad the camp turns out well... the participants gave really good feedback. Now they know how to set fire, survive in the wild. I'm pretty sure the kids these days have never slept in the forest before, nor set fire to cook sweet potatoes/corns... Good experience for them~

So who's in for Survival @ Ubin '09 ??? =)

Time to take a break

Well, time to move on & stop harping on the past. At least glad to know that I'm in demand, even though i wasn't allowed to choose. You never know what happens years down the road.

Now, 2 things to look forward.

1. See what they offer~ though not likely will be good.
2. My 1 week vacation from 7-13th July!!!!!!

Anybody wanna take leave & go relax with me??? What should i do with this 1 wk?? =)

No Choice

It sucks when the choices you Thought u had, were MADE to disappear, leaving you with no choice... LPPL.. what to do... Suck thumb...
I guess now it's really to make the best out of it... Let's see what they offer me~ It better be good! Or else..... LPPL...

Do you know what you want?

Do you really know what you want?? Are you one that carve out a path in the dense vegetation? Or are you one that follow the paths of others, hoping to find what you're looking for eventually??

Have you really thought of what you wanna be? How long would you be in your first job? I've seen many of my frds switched jobs, i've seen many who are still in their 1st jobs.. But how many really found your 1st job to be what you think you like?? A lot of qns in my head now...

It's gonna be tonight or tomorrow... the D-day that decides my future direction.. the day that determines whether i will be doing something i THINK i like, vs something they want me to do. it's been a long time since i experience the interview feeling, yet it seems so familiar.. Lol

I guess i'm lucky to have choices... some don't even have any choice.. but having choices does mean that u'll have to think hard & make a decision between them.. Having choices mean you might regret making the wrong choice, blame yourself & start imagining what if you've taken the other route..Having choices would mean you might be complacent, start being picky & be spoilt for choices..

On the other hand, having no choice will mean you will not look back, you won regret, cos you've got nothing to choose from in the 1st place..Only then, you'll make the best out of this...

So.... Is it really good to have choices???

Prelude of Survival Camp @ Ubin

It's been a looooonnnnggggg time since i last visit ubin. During my secondary school days, i used to camp in Ubin almost every year, until i went university. We always camp at the quarry north of the Thai temple~. Pitch tents, collect firewood, cook a decent meal, sit by the fire and lie under the stars. In middle of the nite, trek to the thai temple despite the hordes of wild dogs barking at us, just to grab a can of ice cold COKE~Shhhioook!! But those were the good old days...

Finally, i'm back to ubin for camping! Just that this time we have agenda to adhere to...

The Recce crew on board Star Cruise Oceanic to Ubin!

The best part is, we don't have to pay for the cruise as there's a fund raising event in Ubin! The boatmen/captain refuse to accept money, saying its for charity for the Earthquake in China, & suggest us to donate the money to victims. They have a donation booth in Ubin! Any greedy men would have keep the money & smile cunningly. Given the kind nature of us, we donated the money for the victims~. God bless us! nono, i mean god bless them. =)

Surprised to find there's Getai in ubin!!

The Gao Siao Xing Dong ah Nan is there as host, damn funny. Din know ubin also so HIP! & it's already 1030pm!! Ah Nan says in Hokkien, "don worry about being too loud although its 1030pm, we're in ubin! ask the police come catch us loh!" Lol

Reached our campsite & started preparations immediately.. Went recce for Nite walk.. Super dark...even campsite is unlit... cant see beyond 50cm... 1 hour nite walk... faint... Details shall be kept secret.. shhhhhh.... Highlight of the nite, Bridge!! Lol.. it's amazing how pple make stupid mistakes & be paranoid in Bridge!

Rise & shine! Woke early to cook breakfast, maggie mee, pancakes with honey & hot coffee~ Best~! Time to get started on preparations again!

Smoking out the mosquitoes~

Introducing San, the chef~. Just Married.

Piggy Han, assistant chef (solely for breakfast ONLY)
