Lazy Sunday~

It's another lazy sunday again..Woke up in the aftnn, nua ard, msn, do laundry, iron, clean house & listen to nice songs.. Shiok~...


Haven been bloggin much, very lazy. haha. Guess the frequency will get lesser, anyway not much happenings.. perhaps nxt few wks will be better. Anyway, my camera Canon Ixus 950 has arrived!! wootz!!! soo coolz!!! Good resolution, zoom, colour, LCD display, face detection etc etc.. Zai.. most imptly, its 200 SGD CHEAPER den prices in SG. Shiok. Paid S$413 for it, well worth the money man. My 1st transaction wif amazon.com. the prices there are really the best u can find, but gotta becareful of shipping charges, my shipping is free btw. lol.

went to look for a jacket.. OH.. forgot to mention,the weather here is realli crazi.... morning is realli COLD!!I was told Houston is a semi dessert, all year quite hot,no winter etc, like singapore.. but WTF.. suddenly get so cold. apparently i got the wrg info. faint. Its abt 10degrees tat day..crazi man..the cold wind blows..wen i step out of my shower, i nearly frozed..uncontrolled shivering & trembling.. ma jiam the OTTO shake shake machine... but suddenly in the aftnn, it can go back to hot,sunny day.. abt 25 degress mayb.. weird lo, weather flip/changes even faster den u flip a roti prata...unbelievable.. was told in dec will be even colder... faint.. tats y i need to get a jacket,goin on jacket hunting spree.



tried a few jackets,all not bad.. as shown below. the 1st left, very thin but looks nice.. ma jiam slightly better den windbreaker,but gd texture, ma jiam fur.lol. decided against it since its too thin,but i think if im back to SG,i still can use.







In the end, i got tis jacket! wootz! i like. the collar is like fur.. inside oso fur, so beri comfy..quite thick but not too thick(contradicting), lol. Its dark brown actualli, not the grey shown by the pic..Guess wat, its only 40USD, so abt 60 SGD...for a jacket,i think its damn cheap liao.lol.

Went on to buy another sweater from dockers. Wootz. 24USD, not too bad,considering its knitted & quite thick.zhuan. got another Guess polo T which my pig says look like uncle.*lan diao*

Thurs nite was spent partying again.faint. Went to David's(guy standing) apartment to drink, relac & smoke Sisha.. He's a gd bartender!made nice drinks like white russian, lemon vodka etc. Pro. every1 start to get tipsy.. made a big mess.lol. Billy, guy in black on the right, spill sisha charcoal on floor & burn the carpet.hahah. made so mani burnt marks ma jiam its world war bombings. Guess tat guy gonna pay for the carpet.hahaha.

Friday nite went watch movie, Dan in real life, not a very good movie, still passable though. We pretended we were students,gave ID, so got the tix cheaper(7.50usd) rather den the usual 9usd. it's more ex den in SG, but, cant always make comparisons.. if not u won be able to do anything, cos almost everything is more ex. An av meal here cost abt 10usd loh, tats 15sgd..if u compare, u'll starve.fast fd is cheaper, abt 6-7usd, but still more ex.

BUT, since my meals are covered, i don haf the worry of finding cheap stuffs to eat.seriously, sometimes i don even look at menu 1st, juz go in sit down order den see price.lol. of cos i cant exceed a limit per day. Same for my car,gas is covered, so i had the luxury to drive ard when i m bored, making rounds, exploring. driving in here is a bit more relax, cos roads are big, not too mani cars oso(avoid peak hrs,if not it can be horrible), so not so stress. But roads/turns can be confusing. BTw, my parking sux..Horrible.lol. i think i need take parking lessons.glad theres not much parallel parking here.

Anyway, i finally got my own cubicle. Lol. Wootz. quite big & spacious. but rite in front of walkway, quite little privacy, every1 hu walk past can see my screen.sobz. Decorate my desk with some photos. lol. mayb i shld bring more to paste.hahah.

Sat is Halloween!! wootz!went wif frds to look for costumes. the shops there is realli unbelievable. nice decorations & 1 full big big store all costumes & props.powerz. its realli a big thing here, every1 is so excited to buy costumes.

Ended up with this.. Pirate outfit. In the shop we visited, it costs 29.90usd,but i bought in walmart 1 day earlier, oni 19.90usd.saved 15SGD... zhuan. walmart is gd. lol.

An interesting party i would say. so many pple dressing up in different costumes, sure had fun taking pics. lol. Party was abt 20+pple.. I expected 50+ pple. lol. Not as big as those parties u see in american shows, but its sure fun for my 1st halloween experience in US. Wootz. WOndering if they have street parties on the actual Halloween day(wed), shall drive ard in my costume that nite.hahah.

SHould be going to Cancun on 9th Nov, if everything works fine.. Going to book the tickets tomorrow. lol. Wootz. 500USD.. sure ex... but... once in a lifetime.. Its like Hawaii, my dream vacation...Too good to be missed..will eat bread or Fast wen i go back to SG..

Ziegen Bock music festival

As mentioned, Sat i went home at 8.30am after a nite at my frd's place, din slp after that, was chatting on msn & phone. Supposed to meet them for the concert at 3.30, went out at 5pm, & damn the traffic was crazy... jam like mad.. at least 1km of stationary traffic... almost fainted. Den i saw this huge limo... cool

Reached there at abt 5.45pm, it's huge...Oh, forgot to mention they haf tolls like SG's ERP also, 1 time $1.50, i paid $4 for tolls & $5 for parking! the 1st time i had to pay for parking in US man... the parking was HUGE.. thrashed SG's parking space...cant even think of which place can be used as an eg for comparison.. maybe 4times national stadium parking, & even larger.Will have serious problems findind car...

Anyway, heres the concert. It's outdoor texas country music. Bands from Texas will be playing & rocking the place, tickets only $10. Beer at $4.50 per glass/can. All u see is true blue texans rocking with the music, with 1 hand holding beer.

People mountain people sea....& this is like only the beginning, crowd begin to come in only at nite..

I got 2 true blue texan cowgirls to pose for me. Lol. Cowboy hats, mini shorts & boots. Cool huh! i muz get a cowboy hat also man.!

1 of the band, we were right in front of stage.. Too bad i din noe ANY of the songs... cos its all from texas.. But its a good experience. Big big big big outdoor concert ,was surprised by the scale of it. They had 2 stages, both side have bands playing. When stage 1 performance ends, stage 2 starts & vice versa. Cool~ & as expected its beer, beer & beer again... Gotta start goin to gym man...

Went home quite early, abt 12+am, every1's tired as we've been out drinking since thurs. Went back to msn & chat again.. slpt at 4am..although was quite tired, but once u see frds in SG online, will start chatting till late..not everytime have the chance to do that man. since its wkend, can slp later ba..

Sunday was relax & recuperate day man.. woke up at 1+pm. wootz, my best slp so far... Did laundry... so cute, they got dryer there... once u spin dry ur clothes, shift it to another compartment, they heat it up till it dry.. Maybe that's where the Ah Tiongs in NTU hall got their idea of putting socks into microwave to DRY. lol. Spend half the time doing laundry & ironing.... Quite fun to do at 1st, but got bored of it soon. Lol. Guess it's always better to stay at hm where i don need to worry abt ironing & laundry. Now i really miss my mum. Lol.

Evening was soccer time & after that went to catch a movie with my roomie. watched the Kingdom, its a VERY GOOD MOVIE!!! seriously, all shld watch it. It's abt terrorists bombin americans in Saudi.. Gd show. makes u understand more abt the situation in middle east. recently get to know more abt the situation there, lebanese vs israelis, saudi arabia, bla bla bla.. In SG we probably wouldnt know much or couldnt bother much, but you guys shld go read up on it.. interesting, differing viewpts from both side... Guess thats politics..

Lastly, great news. My corporate card has arrived Wootz. American Express, realli the original green & white card with statue. Wootz. so exciting. too bad its not my own credit card. Oh, my Canon ixus 950 is going to arrive tomorrow!! wootz. got it at 415SGD from amazon.com. My leather pouch for it arrived today. wootz. shall have the new toy to play ard soon. wootz!!Yawnz.. getting tired.. again, haven been slping well... y m i taking so long to adjust to the timezone man. Probably becos i'm not a PIG hu can keep slping, im a lite sleeper.. lol.

Good news, my cellphone is here! It's of cos a local line. Samsung by AT&T, the 'amazing' thing is,there is only 1 ringtone & 1msg tone. theres no other for u to change.... Unless u wanna download from the network, which i'm 110% sure you haf to pay...Now waiting for my american Express corporate card man. Wootz! Oh, & their phone have no dictionary(sms) no idea why.

On thurs, i met up with a few of the american NGs(Next Gens) at Sherlocks after work. It's the bar which i used to go often for Free WIFI, now that my internet is up, i don need to frequent there anymore. Had fun meeting the pple that i met in July when i was there for 1 wk orientation. Obviously not every1 remember each other, so good chance to know each other & catch up(as if theres much to catch up.) The good thing is that america is so big, & these NGs all come from different states, working in diff locations, so apparently i m not the only 1 thats new to the town. Felt a little better. lol. As expected, we kept drinking... not alot though, cos i m driving. Apparently, they don care abt drink driving. lol. They drive, they still drink. Lol. of cos to a certain limit. Oh, at happy hours, the bar provide free finger food, which are delicious. Nachos wit cheese, sausages, meatballs & from fried bratwurst(don noe how to spell)

On friday was another interesting day..realli TGIF.. in my office... nobody works on Friday. hahaha. Faint. My dept is all out of town, left me alone. Other dept pple were present, but can oviously see its a leisure mode... Lol. pple taking early & long lunch. ME too. lol. We met a few NGs for lunch at cheddar box. By word of mouth, the turnout was 13 pple!! faint.. i swear it was like impromptu, i call u, u call ur frds, etc etc. 1.5hr lunch. went back office, explore other floors, end up chatting wif new pple. hahaha. Being the hardworkin me, of cos i did some work. Lol. after office hrs went over to Sherlocks for beer with roommate & david, went home nua, den at nite met the NGs again to chill.

We went downtown(1st time went downtown), to 3 different bars!! it's realli drink drink & drink. this time round i din drive, roommate drove,so i can drink. Downtown is nothin special, not like orchard road or cityhall etc..nv see much shopping centres.. Mayb more of pubs/clubs etc ba. also don noe...

Maybe i shall intro a bit, 1st pic from left, gal is kelli from Houston, guy is David(russian) american NG, 2nd pic, Dillon from houston(interesting guy), Brian from Oregon (drove 3hrs down from Augustin to houston to join us), lauren from New york,shocking fact, she's indian american!Don noe whether if shes from india but came over since young, or her family from india but shes born in america. Seriously its just drinking & drinking & chattin ard. See the 2 roommates getting a bit high, trying to pray/bow to each other. faint.

Stay till 2am, where all bars closed. I thought that was the end, but no, Dillon & JJ invited us to their house for more. Faint. Cooked chicken wings to eas our stomach, & continue drinking(just a little). Slpt over at their place.

He's realli a true blue texan man!lol. Wore texan boots, listen texan music, even have an old american flag in his room. I bet alot of us nv knew, this old flag had 48 stars, signifying 48 states in USA. The current flag has 56 stars,bcos Hawaii & some other states joined. A history lesson huh. lol.
